"Lots of people ask what motivates me to keep fit & the answer is simple....my family. They deserve me to be the healthiest I can be. It wasn’t that long ago that I struggled up Iron Mountain behind them, unable to keep up with my preschooler! That was the turning point for me & I haven’t looked back since. There are days I miss working out or I struggle to get through it, but those days are the minority (when they used to be my normality)."

Master Trainer workshops are for people interested in teaching OR for brand enthusiasts who want to learn more about the program, the science, and take an incredible opportunity to sweat with one of our best PROS!

🏹Are they only online or can I find one in-person?
They are absolutely in-person also. As our programs grow geographically and pandemic related restrictions lift we expect you to be able to find them everywhere!

🏹 Can I become a WARRIOR Master Trainer?
We will open up auditions and applications in the new year. Prerequisites apply.

WHY LIFT

​"Okay, I get it. Not everyone enjoys exercise as much as I do, and not everyone wants to lift weights. But there are so many reasons why everyone should!
Some of the benefits of a consistent resistance training program include:
  • 🏹maintaining muscle mass as we age
  • 🏹mood elevation!!! Lifting weights boosts those mood busting hormones, and for some can be a great tool to combat stress and anxiety
  • 🏹it strengthens your muscles and joints, meaning we are more functional across the age continuum (think about trying to get up out of a chair, or get up off of the floor, or carry a heavy sack of groceries into the house from the car)
  • 🏹resistance training stimulates bone growth and helps to fight the effects of age related osteoporosis
  • 🏹it helps your body to burn excess fat stores and helps with weight loss and management
  • 🏹it improves your cardiovascular health
According to the American College of Sports Medicine guidelines, each major muscle group should be trained 2-3 days per week, with a special focus on multi joint movements. Why? Because that is how we move in life! Intensity varies based on an individuals age and other general health considerations, but we can reap the benefits of strength and resistance training at ANY age!"

WARRIORS MAKE NOISE AT THE CAPITOL

August 5-7, WARRIORS make history.  We rocked the DCAC Fitness Convention. 
This was the first in person fitness conference since the global COVID19 pandemic.  We had 4 sessions. Each of which overflowed out into the hallways.  There were 30 WARRIOR instructors from around the country that came.
We sweat together, laughed and even cried.  This even felt like a major milestone for our brands.

Trademark Benchmark

My official trademark for WARRIOR Strength arrived in the mail yesterday. 
Truth: I didn’t know how to do ANY of this when I set about launching these programs. Many steps have been terrifying. That ol’ adage “you don’t have to see the whole staircase to take the next step” has been my mantra.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you, for supporting the WARRIOR effort and encouraging me.

Taking my leggings off for this official announcement ,
I am proudly representing the Fitness Business Podcast  (#fbpfanatic) which is basically my alma mater 🏻‍-let me explain...

With over 700,000 downloads this podcast is THE resource for fitness managers, owners, and club operators. 

Years ago I went from a GroupX manager at a small club making 🥜, to a bigger chain due to a buyout, and then, rather fortuitously, to my soulmate Athletic Club @dac_eugene - a family owned, historic building, 100,000 sq feet spanning two city blocks, with 8 group fitness studios in the heart of downtown Eugene . I wanted to be a better leader and as my responsibilities grew from GroupX to Small Group, to Personal Training to #allthingsfitness, I quickly realized that I needed to have a fuller understanding of overall club operations. I needed to know how the whole engine worked (from facilities maintenance to food and beverage, to locker rooms and towel service, to the welcome desks etc). Enter FPB! I started binge consuming episodes and my confidence in my role grew. 

So today, it’s with with excitement and gratitude that I take on this temporary role with 6 international leaders that I’m super honored to be listed among 🤩:

    Ellen is a lululemon Ambassador in Eugene, OR and loves serving her community through the Sweat Life. 
    Ellen is the Fitness Director at the Downtown Athletic Club of Eugene, where she coaches small group sessions and teaches classes.  
    She is nationally certified through ACE and AFAA and holds numerous specialty group exercise certifications.  She is also a certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist through the American Council on Exercise.  She is also an 200 EYRT through Yoga Alliance.
